Located in GION-HIGASHI, the famous Geiko (Geisha) entertainment district of KYOTO, we are not just the place for your enjoyment but also your gateway to immerse in the Japanese Culture rooted in Kyoto’s sense of Hospitality and Playfulness !
The Booth establishment operates together 23/24, 6/7 for you to enjoy by day and night time, the delicacy of Japanese cuisine based on WAGYU (Japanese Beef), in its cozy environment, with a wide range of matching beverages such as Japanese sake, whiskey or original cocktails (changing by season), thus an opporunity to dive into the natural scenery of KYOTO through beverages.
Since 1999, Bar SANSUI and newly opened in August 2023, Cafe & Bar BENIKOHMORI are booth the ideal places offering you a real immersion into the heart of the art , culinary and entertainement refinement, merging TRADITION & MODENITY of KYOTO.

What we offer is not only a cozy environment of relaxation and comfort, with a wide range beverages and foods, as well as small bites (Sweets and Snacks), but, as an ALL INCLUSIVE place, in addition, you will find the exceptional Japanese “和” sensitivity created by the selected works displayed from the famous painter Kaneko KUNIYOSHI collection.
Bar 山水 (SAN-SUI) and Cafe& Bar 紅蝙蝠(BENIKOHMORI) are woman-run restaurant and entertainment businesses in Kyoto.
They offer to local and international clients the ultimate service in Japanese hospitality. SAN-SUI is written with the Chinese characters for Mountain (山) and Water (水) related to Asian style of painting illustrating ideal landscape made of Mountain and Water.
BENIKOHMORI, the Red Bat, is written with the Chinese characters for Red (紅) and Bat (蝙蝠) related to the kimono design by Kaneko KUNIYOSHI inspired by the novel by Shin HASEGAWA of the same title.
As We are waiting for you, we hope to discuss about several other anecdotes about Kyoto and Japan while attending our sport events, theme Parties, Karaoke etc.
